Our Approach

  • The Need

A shocking 12 percent of all New York State residents above age 11 suffer from addiction each year.  In 2017, in New York City alone, someone died of an opioid overdose every six hours.  This rate does not account for any other addiction-related overdoses. The need is to save lives, now even more important than ever.

  • The Mission

T’Shuvah Center’s mission is to provide addicts of all kinds with the opportunity to build a community for recovery using a model that integrates Jewish wisdom, text and ritual; the 12-Steps; and spirituality.

  • The Vision

T’Shuvah Center envisions a world where wrestling souls that suffer from addiction can receive the help they need to begin the road to recovery. T’Shuvah Center’s spirituality-based model founded on action, authenticity and community is devoted to building a sense of belonging and purpose for anyone who seeks it.

PODCAST

TATTOOS AND TORAH is a podcast dedicated to creating a new voice in recovery, filled with original thinking and practicality which often leads to greater understanding of the human condition and increased gratitude. The focus may be on addiction and recovery, but the wisdom is universal. Our host Rabbi Iggy integrates elements that typically aren’t combined, exploring topics like recovery, spirituality, wisdom, human connection, LGBTQ+ issues, music, art, fashion and ancient Jewish text (and tattoos, too).
